Send Your RFQA shell and tube heat exchanger passes one fluid through a bundle of tubes and the other around them inside the shell, so heat moves through the tube walls without the fluids mixing. It is the most widely used design in process plants because it handles high pressures and temperatures. We build complete units with shells up to Ø 2,000 mm, tube lengths up to 6 m (20 ft) and weights up to 15 tonnes, with expanded or welded tube-to-tubesheet joints, as coolers, condensers, reboilers and oil coolers for chemical, petrochemical, refinery and power plants.

A plate heat exchanger uses a pack of corrugated metal plates to form thin, parallel channels for the hot and cold fluids, giving a high heat transfer rate in a compact footprint. Plates can be added or removed to change capacity, and the pack opens for cleaning. We assemble complete plate heat exchangers for process, HVAC and utility duties where space is limited and maintenance must be quick.

A tube sheet is the drilled plate that holds the tubes in place and seals the shell side from the tube side. We CNC-drill tube sheets up to Ø 2,000 mm in carbon steel, SS 304/316 and titanium, with the hole pattern laid out to the client’s drawing for expanded or welded tube joints. Accurate pitch and hole finish are what make the joints leak-tight under pressure.
Sharma Technocast is ISO 9001:2015 certified (accredited and verifiable on IAF CertSearch). Every heat exchanger is inspected and pressure-tested before dispatch, and we welcome third-party inspection by your nominated agency.
| Certification | ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System |
|---|---|
| Pressure & leak testing | Hydrostatic, pneumatic and helium leak testing, as specified by the client |
| Tube joints | Expanded and welded tube-to-tubesheet joints, checked before pressure testing |
| Non-destructive testing | Ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, dye penetrant testing |
| Dimensional inspection | Tube sheet hole pattern, nozzle orientation and overall dimensions checked against the drawing |
| Documents supplied | Material test certificates, pressure and leak test reports, NDT reports, dimensional reports |
Sharma Technocast builds heat exchangers alongside our fabrication, machining and testing under one roof, so one supplier controls the shell, the tube sheet machining and the final test.
A heat exchanger transfers heat from a hot fluid to a cold fluid without the two mixing. Heat moves by conduction through a metal wall, such as a tube or a plate, and by convection in the fluids on each side.
A shell and tube exchanger runs one fluid through a tube bundle inside a shell and suits high pressures, high temperatures and dirty fluids. A plate exchanger uses a pack of corrugated plates, giving more heat transfer in less space and easy cleaning, and suits lower-pressure, clean-fluid duties.
We make complete shell and tube and plate heat exchangers in our own shop, including coolers, condensers, reboilers and oil coolers, plus CNC-drilled tube sheets, all built to the client's design.
We build shell and tube exchangers with shells up to Ø 2,000 mm, tube lengths up to 6 m (20 ft) and weights up to 15 tonnes, and drill tube sheets up to Ø 2,000 mm. Plate heat exchanger sizes are quoted to the duty.
We build shells, tubes and tube sheets in carbon steel, stainless steel SS 304/316 and titanium, chosen for the fluid, temperature, pressure and corrosion conditions of each duty.
Tubes are expanded into the tube sheet, welded, or both, depending on the pressure, temperature and how critical it is to keep the two fluids apart.
Every unit is pressure-tested before dispatch by hydrostatic, pneumatic or helium leak testing, as specified by the client. We supply the test reports with the material test certificates, NDT and dimensional reports.
Yes. We build to the client's design, datasheet and drawings, for single units or repeat orders.
Typical lead time is 12 to 13 weeks (about 90 days) from drawing approval, depending on size, material and testing requirements.
Send your datasheet or drawing with the fluids, flow rates, temperatures, pressures, material and quantity to [email protected] or through our contact page. We confirm feasibility within 24–48 hours.
